On November 23, the world had an opportunity to congratulate Long Beach rapper Snoop Dogg with his child’s anniversary – 27 years had past since he release his debut album Doggystyle.
The virtual celebration took place in Los Angeles, Snoop Dogg prepared some amazing surprises, such as compilation of the best Internet content related to the album and new bundle of exclusive products for sale.
Doggystyle is known to be the first studio album by American rap artist Snoop Doggy Dogg, released via Death Row Records with support of Interscope Recordsand Atlantic Records. The recording of the album began immediately after the Dr. Dre’s The Chronic was dropped. According to Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre was one that contributed to the album the most, including his long messing with the beat and producing effort.

Snoop Dogg became popular back in 1992 when he appeared on several tracks on Dr. Dre‘s The Chronic (including “Nuthin ‘But a” G “Thang”). It was on Dre‘s album that the genre G-Funk appeared, which is a mix of gangsta rap and P-Funk . Immediately after the release of The Chronic, recording of Doggystyle began.
The lyrics of the album tell about murders and showdowns, about parties and sex, about the life of a real Californian gangster . The whole album sounds like The Chronic. Rolling Stone magazine called this album a “replica” of The Chronic. The only difference between this album and The Chronic is that there is no mention of drugs on Doggystyle.
Most of the album was produced by Dr. Dre. However, some tracks were produced by Warren G, Daz Dilligner and DJ Pooh.
The album debuted at # 1 on the Billboard 200 , selling 803,000 copies in its first week. The album lasted three weeks at number one on this chart. In total, 6 million copies were sold in America and 14 million copies worldwide .
The legendary artist started greeting with caption to alum’s artwork: “Happy C day to my first solo record Doggystyle 27 years old” . It once more highlighted the importance and big value of Doggystyle for Snoop. The Doggfather also posted some colorful pictures on his Instagram, presenting exclusive limited edition of merch dedicated to his starry milestone. The merch set includes a bomber jacket, T-shirt and boxer briefs all with the Doggystyle cover artwork and branding logos.
The gifted MC continued the celebration with a bunch of posts associated with the recent viral video of a kid who danced and parodied Keak Da Sneak’s Bay Area song “Super Hyphie.” “Doggystyle C Day mood 27 years strong,” Snoop Dog wrote in the caption.
Then goes post, where Snoop with help of sport journalist and Instagram comic Kevin Cuenca freestyled to his classic high-ranked “Gin N Juice”, reminding its topicality in our days.
The rapper also saluted his colleague, important Doggystyle collaborator and West Coast MC Kurupt. Snoop sent a couple of videos to wish his fellow Crip a happy 48th birthday.

They all commented that initial work of rep legend had enormous impact on their growth. Just think – Doggystyle was released in November 1993 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart – and still can be called one of the best albums in gangsta rap history. The album saw the world thanks to non-popular Death Row Records, and was produced mainly by Dr. Dre and Daz Dillinger, and also featuring Tha Dogg Pounda and Warren G. It showed brilliant result spending 74 weeks in on the top positions of the chart.
