My name is Keita Da Foster Child, a hip-hop artist from the South Side of Chicago. I started writing music when I was 13 as a way to cope with my experiences growing up in the foster care system. Music became my escape and my way of expressing emotions that were too heavy to carry alone. After serving in the Air Force, I realized that music was my true calling, so I decided to pursue it full-time. Since then, I’ve written over 1,000 tracks, each one reflecting my life’s struggles, triumphs, and everything in between.
I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with some of the best in the industry, including Durag a Fool, Grammy-nominated C Sick, Emkay, and Hugo Black. Working with these talented artists has allowed me to grow musically and connect with an audience that appreciates authenticity and realness. My fans are people who have gone through their own battles and find solace in the rawness of my lyrics.
About My Music
My music is all about telling the truth. I don’t specialize in R&B or other genres — my heart is in hip-hop. I’ve always been inspired by the raw, unapologetic storytelling of legends like 2Pac, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Jadakiss, and Scarface, and I aim to continue that tradition. My music focuses on adversity, resilience, and finding hope in the darkest places. Whether you’re going through hard times or celebrating a victory, my songs are there to remind you that you’re not alone.
What makes my music stand out is that it’s based on real-life experiences. I don’t sugarcoat anything; I give my listeners the truth, no matter how uncomfortable or painful it may be. I believe in creating music that speaks to the heart and mind, giving people something to relate to.
